Jim Bruce Trust Marquee 2018

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at another sold out event in the Jim Bruce Trust Marquee at Port Macquarie Cup this year. With the support of sponsors and guests the Trust raised close to $25,000.

Every year the Jim Bruce Urology & Prostate Cancer Trust works with local businesses to put on a spectacular day at the races, with all funds raised going to improve the support for cancer patients around the Mid North Coast.

This year, the Marquee was located in prime position, on the inside track, with an unrivalled view of the race course and finish line.

The Jim Bruce Trust community would like to thank our major sponsors, Fujitsu and Coolcene Air Conditioning, and local businesses Mid North Coast Weddings, The Stunned Mullet, Settlers Inn, Ella Bache, The Style Vibe, Coates Hire, Men at Work and Mount Seaview Spring Water. Without their generosity and support the day would not have been such a success.

The Jim Bruce Trust was established in honour of the late Jim Bruce after prostate cancer took him too early, in 2008. The Trust is committed to finding a cure for prostate cancer and supporting the people in our community who are living with cancer. To date, the Trust has raised well over $500,000.

With the money raised, the Trust has funded the purchase of vital medical equipment, trained specialist urology nurses and employed a community urology nurse that travels to patients who are less mobile.

New Website Launch

The Jim Bruce Trust is proud to release a new website in 2017. The website aims to become a hub of information for people and families experiencing the effects of prostate cancer. As part of the new website, the Jim Bruce Trust has developed an online forum which is a dedicated space for men to connect, ask questions and share their prostate cancer experiences. The Jim Bruce Trust aims to support the online forum with a qualified urology nurse to support men experiencing prostate cancer on the Mid North Coast.
